Job Description

OVERALL PURPOSE OF POSITION

The Manager of Sabre Host & Distribution is responsible for the organization of the Central Reservations Control (CRC) and of direct and indirect sales channels as Sabre Host PSS, GDS and Aggregators distribution channels taking care of related settings and monitoring as per company’s sales strategies.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitoring (and adjust if needed) of loading of the KM Malta Airlines’ Summer/Winter schedules via Schedule Change Control in Sabre Res including marketing code-share flights.
  • Testing with new codeshare partners and to set up Sabre Res as per details agreed between KM Malta Airlines and the other carriers.
  • Monitoring of loading in Sabre Res of ad hoc, charter and extra flights.
  • Coordinating with Schedules Planning, Revenue and Pricing Sections to establish a booking class hierarchy including set-aside classes.
  • Activate, update and maintain existing codeshare set up whenever required.
  • Create, update and maintain a biased City Pair availability display on Sabre Res towards KM Malta Airlines.
  • Create, update and maintain tables in Sabre Res to send and receive AVS messages with other airlines and GDSs and ensure that KM Malta Airlines availability is synchronized correctly in third-party systems and vice versa.
  • Ensuring that KM Malta Airlines product is correctly distributed via GDS channels.
  • Create and update rules and other functionalities in Sabre Sonic Inventory (SSI) system.
  • Create, update and maintain the TIFT table in Sabre Res to auto generate PNLs, ADLs, PMMTs, PRSs, as requested by Malta Ground Operations and 3rd party handlers.
  • Acting as KM Malta Airlines’ Res system support centre for inventory and reservations related problems and liaising with Sabre Helpdesk when necessary.
  • Monitoring and follow-up of any irregularities in reservation matters.
  • Monitoring of passengers re-accommodation on suitable alternative flights, in coordination with KM Malta Airlines’ Sales offices and Call Centre, in cases of flight cancellations, re-timings or disruptions and notifying booking source.
  • Granting of involuntary re-routings authorization to KM Malta Airlines offices and Call Centre as applicable.
  • Collation and distribution of statistics of number of No Shows, No Records, Offloads and DBC paid.
  • Assist Head of Digital & Distribution in the negotiation and conclusion of new distribution agreements.
  • Accountable to work with the Head of Digital & Distribution to develop a medium to long-term roadmap to drive channel shift to direct channels and NDC based sales to minimize company’s distribution costs.
  • Keep up to date with all relevant procedures and compliance rules.
  • Ensure that the staff are well trained and updated in the latest Sabre Res system and Schedule Change Control functionalities.
  • Provide regular reporting and analysis of performance indirect channels performance and effectiveness.
  • Ensuring CRC shift roster covers required duty hours.

  • Responsibilities for the emergency response processes and procedures, as defined in the Emergency Response Program Manual for your role.

  • Be aware of personal health and safety and the health and safety of others at work.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Office based Monday to Friday.
  • May be required to travel.
  • May be required to work after hours in case of disruption.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 5 years of airline experience in commercial reservation department with Reservation Control and Inventory knowledge (essential).
  • Strong organizational ability to provide support, deal and prioritize a wide variety of issues within Sabre Host and GDS system environment.
  • Competence acquired either through experience and/or through formal education in order to cope with the requirements of the position.
  • High capability to troubleshoot when Sabre Host PSS issues may arise, liaising with 3rd party suppliers if needed.
  • High capability to work in fast-paced environments in order to meet projects timelines.
  • Analytical capabilities with the skill to draw appropriate conclusions and present these to non-experts; able to use modelling, analysis and presentation tools to a proficient level.
  • Ability to set priorities and make appropriate decisions.
  • Able to work closely with all internal and external stakeholders, building rapport and long-term relationships, and puts sustained efforts into building influential relationships outside the organisation.
