OVERALL PURPOSE OF POSITION

The Payables Officer reports to the Payables Manager within the Working Capital Management division for all aspects of the payables processes for KM Malta Airlines. The Officer supports the function by assisting in maintaining up-to-date and accurate Accounts Payables records, ensuring invoices are approved and payments processed within contractual terms and in accordance with KM Malta Airlines policy. This role performs day-to-day payables operations, enabling the division to safeguard KM Malta Airlines’ financial health and contributing to its strategic objectives.

Responsibilities

• Handle the process of invoice receipt, verification, and approval, ensuring alignment with purchase orders and delivery documentation to maintain the integrity of the payables system.
• Assist in the timely and accurate scheduling and execution of all supplier payments, optimising cash flow management and adhering to company policies to sustain favourable working capital levels.
• Ensure strict compliance with both internal control frameworks and external regulatory standards, including adherence to tax laws and financial reporting requirements, to uphold financial integrity.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum 1 year’s experience in a finance-related role (essential).
• Experience in managing and systematic processing of incoming invoices (desirable).
• Experience in the Commercial Aviation industry is advantageous (desirable).
• Experiencing operating within Maltese Aviation regulatory frameworks (desirable).
• A recognised post-graduate degree, in Accounting, Finance or a similar field is advantageous (desirable).
