Historical Landmarks
The Blue Mosque is one of Istanbul’s most iconic landmarks. It was commissioned by Sultan Ahmed I in the early 17th century and is known for its blue Iznik tiles, which adorn its vast interior, giving the mosque its popular name. With its six towering minarets, a grand central dome, and intricate calligraphy, this mosque is a masterpiece of Ottoman architecture. Whilst it is still an active place of worship, visitors can admire its serene atmosphere and stunning design while respecting prayer times.

Topkapi Palace was the heart of the Ottoman Empire, where it served as the political and administrative hub for nearly four centuries. It was commissioned in the 15th century by Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror, and the palace boasts grand courtyards, ornate chambers, and the famous Harem. Now a museum, it houses invaluable artifacts, such as the Spoonmaker’s Diamond, Ottoman - era weaponry, and sacred Islamic relics. Perched above the Bosphorus strait, it provides stunning views and a fascinating insight into the opulence of Ottoman royalty.
