Job Description

OVERALL PURPOSE OF POSITION

The position is accountable to the Head Digital and Distribution and is responsible for the development, management and maintenance of the online sales channels with the main objective to maximise revenue opportunities through all digital / online sales channels and inclusion of best possible customer engagement experience.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accountable for KM Malta Airlines Online Sales channels, specifically responsible for the online booking engine, 3rd party online sales channels, new online channels and APIs.
  • Responsible for working with 3rd party website developers on enhancements and hot fixes.
  • Responsible for testing and sign-off of delivered 3rd party developments and fixes.
  • Accountable for KM Malta Airlines’ relationships with the Online Sales channels partners, ensuring that relationships are developed and maintained with the key players in the market.
  • Responsible for identifying new innovative online channels, testing and implementing such channels.
  • Accountable for developing and managing the Online and digital Sales channels in line with KM Malta Airlines' strategic objectives and corporate plan to increase revenue and passenger retention.
  • Accountable for developing a digital / online sales plan for short and medium term, which is in line with the company’s sales strategy and executing this plan.
  • Accountable to work with the Head of Digital & Distribution to develop, manage and maintain a medium and long-term roadmap to ensure market conformity of the KM Malta Airlines digital channels sales strategy.
  • Management of any required meeting forums with 3rd party system developer and relevant internal teams.
  • Gatekeeper to ensure multiple departmental objectives are prioritized and do not conflict.

EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS, AND SKILLS

  • Diploma MQF Level 5 or Degree MQF Level 6 or higher or relevant professional qualification preferably in digital, media or communications (essential).
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in airline/travel/hospitality or industry related online sales role (essential).
  • Knowledge of airlines websites architecture and key factors.
  • Knowledge and expertise in digital sales, APIs, sales management, Online booking engine administration, user experience, and project management.
  • High capability to troubleshoot when website and/or digital issues may arise, liaising with 3rd party suppliers if needed.
  • High capability to work in fast-paced environments in order to meet projects timelines.
  • Google Analytics regular reporting and analysis of performance Online Sales channels performance and effectiveness.
  • Analytical capabilities with the skill to draw appropriate conclusions and present these to non-experts; able to use modelling, analysis and presentation tools to a proficient level.
  • Ability to set priorities and make appropriate decisions.
  • Able to work closely with all internal and external stakeholders, building rapport and long-term relationships, and puts sustained efforts into building influential relationships outside the organisation.
